How much does building or renovating a New Zealand house might cost?

New Builds
| Master Builder Rates: | $70 + GST per hour |
| New House Builds: | Low-end style $2,500 – $3,000 m2 |
| New House Builds: | Mid-range style $3,000 – $3,500 m2 |
| New House Builds: | High-End style $3,500 plus m2 |
We expect your planning and fully consented council stamped set of plans costs to vary anywhere from $50,000 – $100,000.
Decking
| Rates: | Between $350-$800 m2 |
| Pine finish: | $400 – $600 m2 |
| Vitex finish: | $600 -$1000 m2 |
| Kwila finish: | $600 – $1000 m2 |
The rate depends on your finish, whether it’s a strong looking Kwila finish 90mm/140mm profile or a standard pine decking which is cost effective while still offering a good quality product.This includes all structure/project management/rubbish removal and a top quality Building Brothers finish.
Renovations & Extensions

| Mid-range finish: | $600 – $1000 m2 |
Renovation and Extensions costs are a bit more of the unknown then a standard new build. The majority of the cost to be cut out most likely is resource consents depending on the scale of your renovation or extension.We will provide a fixed price project with a construction timeline to be met and stick to it.
External Services Costs
Drainage, power, gas and water will be subject to council planning rules and regulations which will be clarified upon a site visit. Do contact us for site visit and quotation.
